About Reef Expeditions

ESTABLISHED IN MOUNT DANDENONG, VIC

Reef Expeditions is an environmental conservation initiative dedicated to preserving vulnerable coral reef ecosystems. By combining deep-sea research, satellite telemetry, and real-time simulator software, we study the impact of commercial fishing hooks and natural predators on marine species.

Our Core Mandate

Our research groups track deep-sea currents and study changes in fish migration patterns caused by hook lines and invasive shark populations. Through these studies, we build real-world recommendations for marine protection zones and eco-friendly angling guidelines.

Astronomic-Scale Tracking

Operating from our base camp, we coordinate with the observatory telemetry to monitor reef temperatures, chlorophyll indicators, and ocean health trends. Our findings are made available to universities, eco-protection funds, and the public to raise awareness.

Public Education Simulator

Our deep-sea simulator demonstrates the daily survival struggle of reef species. Feeding on hooked worms mimics the risky foraging clownfish face daily, helping the public appreciate the delicate balance of our marine sanctuaries.
